BACKGROUND

I was born in Laredo, Texas in 1950, and went to school at St. Joseph's Academy, graduating in 1968. From there, I attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1972. In 1973, I moved to Boulder, Colorado and went to the University of Colorado School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 1976. After working with Legal Aid in Waco, Texas and Corpus Christi for approximately 3 1/2 years, I began a solo practice in 1980, a career that has now stretched for over 30 years.

Married to Gabriela Gonzalez Laurel, Nurse/Legal Assistant.
